Physicians for Social Justice (PSJ) is a nonprofit community-based development organization founded in 2004 by two young physicians who witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of poverty and disease on the rural poor in some communities in northern Nigeria.

These young physicians decided to seek ways to put their intellectual resources, expertise, humanitarian ideals, and the ethics of their profession into practice through selfless service to underserved communities by providing support to vulnerable children, promoting community health, and advocating social justice for marginalized rural communities. PSJ is registered with both the government of Niger State and the Corporate Affairs Commission.
